The Opportunity

As Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Business Performance Team Lead you'll oversee the Business Performance Managers supporting Senior Coverage Leadership and Coverage teams across US CIB Banking. Working closely with the Head of CIB Banking and the CIB Banking Chief Operations Office (COO), you'll turn strategic priorities into a consistent performance management operating rhythm with clear governance, standardization and action tracking. The role spans pipeline and portfolio activity across sectors and regions and includes ownership of monthly business reviews and executive reporting. You'll also represent CIB Banking with Global Business, product areas and functions to align priorities and support a coordinated one HSBC approach. Success means high-quality management information, stronger tool adoption and clearer accountability that helps senior leaders make timely decisions.

What you'll be doing
  • Oversee a team of four (4) Business Performance Managers including hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, development plans and succession planning
  • Set team priorities and allocate sector and region coverage to create consistent ways of working across the Business Performance function
  • Own the US Coverage performance management cadence across forums, governance and reporting for pipeline and portfolio activity
  • Oversee monthly business review packs for sectors and regions aligned to frontline and leadership scorecards
  • Deliver quality control across weekly, monthly and quarterly pipeline reporting, monthly client intensity reporting and ad hoc executive reporting
  • Embed effective information flow, escalation and action tracking to support timely decision making
  • Track strategic initiatives and transformation activity through OKRs and KPIs surfacing risks, issues and dependencies and promoting simplification
  • Oversee rollout, training and adoption of Qlik dashboards, Omnia dashboards and Customer Management Experience (CME) and standardize core assets such as dashboards, review decks and playbooks
  • Strengthen data quality assurance and sales process adherence including CRM hygiene metrics and portfolio hygiene MI and escalate systemic data risks to improve MI reliability


What we're looking for
  • Bring deep knowledge of US CIB Banking Coverage teams including Global Corporates, International Mid-Market and Global Network Banking and the broader construct of HSBC's Global Businesses
  • Demonstrate established experience in a COO and or frontline role with a strong understanding of the CIB Banking business
  • Show proven senior stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills across Coverage leadership teams
  • Apply strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to produce clear reporting and executive-ready packs
  • Deliver high-quality reports and presentations at pace across overlapping deadlines and competing requests
  • Apply strong numeracy and business presentation skills to interpret pipeline, portfolio and client intensity activity
  • Manage priorities across a wide range of actions while maintaining governance discipline and consistent outputs
  • Operate effectively within a small team structure while owning independent tasks with autonomy
  • Use evidence-based judgement to raise issues and question assumptions with senior management when needed
