Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location: Austin, TX

Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 / Annually

Work Schedule: Standard business hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Position Summary:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for leading internal operations to support organizational growth, mission execution, and strategic priorities. This role oversees core internal functions, drives operational excellence, and ensures alignment across departments to improve organizational performance and impact.

The COO will provide strategic leadership across internal-facing teams, optimize processes, enhance collaboration, and ensure operational efficiency. This individual will also serve as the organization's internal compliance officer, overseeing compliance initiatives and ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and results-driven leader with strong operational expertise, excellent people leadership skills, and a proven ability to drive organizational change. This role requires someone who can balance high-level strategy with day-to-day execution, adapt quickly to evolving priorities, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic oversight and leadership for internal operations and key business functions.
• Supervise and support internal-facing teams and department leaders to ensure strong execution of organizational goals.
• Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment across departments to improve efficiency, communication, and service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, operational optimization, and scalable growth.
• Serve as the internal compliance officer, overseeing organizational compliance initiatives and internal controls.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and operational practices align with regulatory and organizational requirements.

• Provide strong day-to-day leadership and mentorship to managers and staff.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, program management, or organizational leadership.
• At least 7 years of people management experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, membership-based organizations, or mission-driven environments preferred.
• Experience with compliance oversight, operational strategy, and organizational growth initiatives preferred.
• Experience with fundraising, grants management, or strategic partnerships is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting objects up to 30 pounds may be required.
