Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the executive oversight and leadership of two of Subways

most critical teams, the Rail Control Center (RCC) and the Power Control Center (PCC). As

a new joint Operations Control Center (OCC), it is comprised of teams across the

Department of Subways, including Service Delivery's Operating Theatre, RCC

Communications, Operations Development, Performance Reporting and Operations

Analysis, MOW Control includes Maintenance of Way, Car Equipment, Stations, and MTA-

IT with goals of coordinating the safest and the fastest resolutions, while ensuring that

fellow employees and customers stay safe and informed. The responsibilities of the OCC

Chief include oversight of the management of service-related incidents, mitigating risks,

and addressing the requirement of how new senior leadership escalates issues to the

highest level of City and State government. This role oversees the safe 24/7 operations and

security of the OCC. Provides direction and control of the collaboration and communication

in the management of incident investigations/reports to provide optimal service, as well as

the recruitment, training, and development of all OCC employees. With Risk Mitigation, the

Chief works in partnership across Subways, IT, C&D, and with consultants/external

agencies on highly confidential and critical reviews, ensuring continued success in an

evolving and high visibility environment.

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, Business Management, Public Administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited college may be considered in lieu of a degree

Twelve (12) years of related experience, of which five (8) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
