Full Job Description
The Role

This is not an executive assistant role and it is not a calendar job. You are a proxy for the founder: you take whole problems off his desk, own them end to end, and give them back finished.

In practice that means you will spend your time on the things that are important, unowned, and quietly costing the company a lot. A conversion problem nobody has sat down with. A process that works but nobody has ever timed. A function the company needs and does not have yet. You will find them, fix them, hand them to whoever should run them, and move to the next one.

The work changes constantly and the ambiguity is real. If you need a defined remit, this will be uncomfortable. If you have ever been the person who ends up owning the thing nobody else could, you will recognise the job immediately.
What You'll Do

Buy back the founder's time. Take the operational work currently sitting on him and either do it, systematise it, or find the person who should own it.

Fix the leaks in the funnel. We lose a large share of people at two specific points between first contact and being fully onboarded. Both are solvable with scheduling design, better communication and some tooling. Neither has an owner today.

Put numbers on work nobody has measured. Some of our teams have no defensible view of how long their work should take. You will run the time studies, set the quotas, and hold them.

Stand up functions from zero. We need a support function and it does not exist. You will write the playbook, define the tiers, and get it staffed and running.

Own special projects end to end. New market launches, new initiatives, senior hiring. You take them from idea to handed-off, several per quarter.

Say no on the founder's behalf. A meaningful part of this job is holding priorities, including against the person who set them. You need to be able to do that and keep the relationship.

Requirements

  • Two or more years in a chief of staff, strategy and operations, consulting, banking or startup generalist role, in a fast-moving environment
  • You are an organizational powerhouse. You bring calm to chaos and you enjoy streamlining complexity
  • You are a clear, concise communicator. You write well, you think quickly, and you know how to represent someone else's voice
  • You are a ruthless prioritizer. You will let three small fires burn to put out the one that actually costs money
  • You are tech-savvy and resourceful. You learn new tools fast and you can write a clear requirements brief for an engineer
  • You can read between the lines. High emotional intelligence, real discretion, and tact in managing relationships
  • You do not wait for instructions. Given an objective, you go and figure it out and build the playbook that did not exist
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and change, because both are guaranteed
Bonus Points For
  • Management consulting or investment banking, two to four years in, and ready to operate rather than advise
  • Having founded something yourself, whether or not it worked
  • Experience working directly with founders or C-level executives
  • Familiarity with Notion, Discord, Google Workspace, Airtable, and lightweight project management tools
  • Interest in startups, investing, alternative markets, or behavioral strategy

Benefits

  • Work side by side with the founder on the problems that matter most
  • Competitive cash compensation
  • Unusually broad exposure: operations, finance, hiring, expansion, product
  • A genuine path into a functional leadership seat as the company grows
  • Fully remote with flexible hours
