Opportunity Information

The Chief of Staff (COS) to the PAFMG CEO is an operational partner that supports the coordination of diverse business activities. This position enables the CEO to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders and fulfill his/her commitments to the physician shareholders, employed physicians/APCs, PAFMG operational leaders and the Board of Directors. The Chief of Staff will work directly for the PAFMG CEO and support the relationship with the PAFMG Board Chair. The Chief of Staff will coordinate with other staff members who support both the CEO and the board. The role will require broad visibility into the organization to identify challenges and to develop solutions. The COS will be integral in facilitating meeting and agenda planning while helping to manage the CEO’s bandwidth and activities. The Chief of Staff will effectively build consensus and manage competing requests, with a combination of focus and flexibility as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role. This role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, humility, self-motivation, and strong organizational and supervision skills.

 

The Chief of Staff will be responsible for prioritizing and organizing critical issues and information to facilitate effective decision making. In conjunction with the Executive Assistant (EA) to the CEO, this role is responsible for designing and executing the Annual Operating Calendar for the organization as well as managing the Executive Team’s operating rhythm and coordination of group-wide business activities for leaders, physicians and APCs.  The Chief of Staff will supervise the PAFMG Administrative Manager and oversee the work of all PAFMG EAs.

Education:

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Communications, Organizational Strategy or related field

  • Be an accomplished leader with at least ten (10) years of broad organizational experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in an ambulatory setting with a physician medical group partnership, in a range of areas and capacities that position her/him to take on a broad spectrum of different kinds of responsibilities.
