At Moog, we solve some of the world’s toughest technical challenges by delivering mission critical motion control solutions that support national defense and space exploration. Built on a culture of trust, autonomy, and collaboration, Moog empowers people to do meaningful work that makes a difference.

Moog’s Space & Defense Group – Space Division is seeking a Chief of Staff to support the Space Division Senior Vice President in Elma, NY or Gilbert, AZ. This role sits at the center of a complex, high impact business and serves as a strategic advisor, integrator, and force multiplier—translating strategy into execution, driving cross functional alignment, and enabling disciplined, high-quality decision-making.

You will lead the division’s operating rhythm, manage governance processes, prepare executive level communications, anticipate risks, and support key leadership priorities when needed. This high visibility, career accelerating role is ideal for someone who thrives in complexity and is motivated by shaping outcomes that are critical to Moog’s success and national security.

As a Chief of Staff, you will:

  • Serve as the Senior Vice President’s trusted advisor by synthesizing information, identifying decision options, and recommending actions.

  • Manage the division’s operating cadence—including leadership meetings, strategic reviews, governance forums, and business reporting cycles.

  • Translate enterprise and divisional priorities into actionable plans with clear milestones, owners, and measurable outcomes.

  • Develop executive level communications such as presentations, briefings, talking points, and leadership updates.

  •  Facilitate alignment across key leadership stakeholders on shared business priorities and decisions. Lead or support enterprise level initiatives including portfolio optimization, M&A support, and transformation programs.

  • Design and manage governance frameworks that enhance disciplined decision-making, transparency, and accountability.

  • Operate with discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive matters and organizational challenges.

  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks while proactively removing barriers to execution.

To be considered for the Chief of Staff role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or a related field; master's degree (MBA or technical discipline) preferred.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in aerospace, defense, engineering, consulting, or other complex technology driven environments.

  • Experience leading and influencing cross functional teams and managing complex programs, portfolios, strategic initiatives, or transformation efforts.

  • Proven ability to operate independently, synthesize complex information, and drive decision-making at senior levels.

  • Strong executive communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation), including experience preparing materials for senior leadership.

  • Demonstrated experience creating or managing governance processes, operating rhythms, or strategic planning activities.

  • Strong business acumen, including financial and risk awareness, with the ability to translate strategy into execution.

  • Ability to build trusted relationships, navigate ambiguity, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Previous experience as a Chief of Staff or a similar role is preferred.
