Full Job Description
This role is hired by Alloy and dedicated to One Health Studio.

About One Health Studio

One Health Studio is Alloy's AI-native venture studio focused on human, animal, and planetary health. We co-create companies at the intersection of corporate innovation, early-stage startups, and applied AI. The portfolio spans animal diagnostics, genomics, infectious disease detection, robotics, computer vision, and health infrastructure. We're a small, high-judgment team that moves fast - founder-caliber EIRs, sophisticated corporate partners, and investors who expect results.

The Role

You are the operational engine of One Health Studio. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Managing Director, you keep the studio and its growing portfolio running - hands on the details, not hovering above them. You own the connective tissue across every concept and company: tracking deliverables, keeping EIRs accountable, managing partner and investor logistics, and making sure nothing slips.

This is an execution-first role for a specialized generalist - someone who translates strategy into action and keeps the train on the tracks. You'll live in the systems, the trackers, the follow-ups, and the day-to-day that keeps a studio moving. You'll shape how the work gets done, not just do it, measuring yourself by the actual outcomes. We move in tight loops, and you close them.

Because the role sits inside Alloy, you won't operate alone. You'll draw on Alloy's centralized resources - Legal, Finance, HR, Marketing, Talent, and Operations - the same way every Alloy studio does, and you'll pull in the broader Alloy team, AI agents, and outside contractors to cover the full stack of work. One person owns the whole, and marshals the resources to get it done.

What You'll Own
  • Studio operations: Keep a real-time view of progress across every concept and portfolio company - milestones, blockers, EIR status, key vendor and partner relationships. Maintain the data and the trackers yourself, and coordinate the cross-functional lift with Alloy's shared services (Operations, Legal, Finance, Marketing, HR, Talent).
  • Portfolio support during incubation: Help One Health portfolio companies get up and running - systems onboarding, research projects, and connecting founders to the right resources across Alloy and our contractor network. Track portfolio metrics on a per-company basis. This is operational support, not founder coaching.
  • Founder and EIR support: Be the day-to-day operational point of contact for EIRs. Help them navigate Alloy resources, coordinate introductions, and clear operational friction so they can build.
  • External relationships: Manage follow-up with corporate partners, investors, academic institutions, and service providers (CDMOs, legal, IP).
  • Contracts and agreements: Track MOUs, EIR agreements, option agreements, and licensing deals across the portfolio. Flag expiration dates and key milestones in coordination with Legal and Finance.
  • Investor and partner communications: Draft updates, coordinate diligence requests, and prepare materials for key meetings.
  • Systems and execution: Build and run the systems that keep the studio moving - onboarding playbooks, reporting templates, partner communication cadences. Improve the playbooks that already work across Alloy, stand up new ones where there's a gap, and use AI tooling to do the work of a larger team.
  • Whatever it takes: Own the high-priority one-offs as they land - research reports, competitive landscapes, regulatory filing coordination, grant applications. If it needs doing and no one else has it, it's yours.

Requirements
You're a Fit If You
  • Have 5-7 years post-grad experience in a demanding environment: venture studio or VC, startup operations, consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy
  • Are a systems thinker - you translate strategy into execution designed for scale and keep the train on the tracks, and you're happiest shipping the thing, not just framing it
  • Operate with high agency - you spot problems and bring solutions before being asked
  • Work in a highly collaborative, iterative style - you move in tight loops with the Managing Director, EIRs, and shared services rather than going dark on a task
  • Thrive with minimal oversight in ambiguous situations - you figure things out
  • Move comfortably across wildly different contexts in a single day: a licensing term sheet draft in the morning, an EIR check-in at lunch, investor talking points in the afternoon
  • Write clearly and concisely (this will be tested)
  • Hold a high bar for quality and get frustrated when things are sloppy
  • Are genuinely interested in health, biotech, or venture - not just the role
  • Are proficient with AI tools from day one - confident enough to vibe code and iterate at the speed of conversation (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Terminal). This is a capability we need on arrival, not one to learn on the job.
  • Are based in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area (strongly preferred) or Indianapolis

Bonus Points
  • Design and product background - you've built or shaped products and have taste for how things should look and work
  • Experience at a venture studio, incubator, accelerator, or venture fund - you've worked across a portfolio of companies supporting founders with varying needs
  • Background in life sciences, healthtech, or animal health
  • Familiarity with regulatory pathways (FDA, USDA) or CDMO/manufacturing processes
  • Experience managing or coordinating with academic partners or government grant programs

Benefits
What we offer
  • Competitive salary plus equity plan
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • A remote-first culture
  • Unlimited PTO
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial environment with a proven venture studio playbook
  • The opportunity to create, build, and grow innovative companies
