The University of Miami UHealth Department of Imaging Services has an exciting opportunity for a Chief MRI Technologist. This position will be covering the second shift, 11:30am to 8:00pm.
The Chief Technologist is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations, department/hospital policies and procedures, objectives and philosophy. The Chief is accountable for the efficient patient throughput and 24-hr supervisory responsibility of department and of all departmental staff member's scheduling, technical guidance, and performance improvement. The chief technologist position involves performing diagnostic/job duties as required of an MRI technologist at a level that will require no supervision of technical details.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
3 Performs all duties of Level I, II & III technologist.
3 Supervises imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.
3 Assists in compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.
3 Contributions to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
3 Responsible for hire, discipline, and promotion of department staff.
3 Obtains and examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.
3 Coordinate/manage scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
3 Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.
3 Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
3 High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging Program.
3 Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer.
3 ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality required.
3 CPR and BLS certification required.
3 Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
