OverviewWe are currently seeking an experienced Chief Inspector for a New York State Department of Transportation project located in Yonkers, New York.
Responsibilities- Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, and recommendations concerning construction issues.
- Supervising, coordinating, and inspecting quality in the field to make sure It meets plans and specifications. Assisting and advising inspectors regarding project management of any major or inconsistent discrepancies, making sure documentation and records are complaint with project budget, and provide assurance to clients that the project has been constructed in accordance with the plans and following all site safety procedures in accordance with OSHA, as well as Company and project specific guidelines.
- NICET IV certification or qualifying equivalent education or experience.
- Must have bridge and/or highway construction experience, with NYSDOT preferred.
- Familiarity with NYSDOT MURK Documentation and using AWP is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Night Shift, over-time and potential weekend work availability.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
Qualifications- Minimum of 10 years of experience with knowledge of highway, bridge, facilities and rail construction practices and procedures as required with a minimum of 5 years of direct experience with New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT).
- Currently possess NICET IV.
- Experience in NYSDOT Site Manager payment system. Additional certs such as ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification, Rutgers Traffic Control Coordinator, NJSAT, and NECEPT preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle.
- Occasional irregular or extended work hours such as Night Shift /Weekend work availability.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
