Qualifications

  • Prevent the installation of defective or unapproved parts
  • Submit FAA Malfunction and Defect Reports as necessary
  • Conduct inspections of incoming aircraft and parts, ensuring accuracy
  • Oversee technical data and manual revisions for compliance
  • Lead internal and external audits for quality programs

Description

Take-off with Pilatus! We are seeking a Chief Inspector to support maintenance and quality operations in Sarasota, FL. Responsibility for oversight of regulatory compliance, inspection activities, quality systems, and return-to-service processes in accordance with FAA and EASA regulations. Leadership of quality assurance personnel, audit activities, technical data management, and safety initiatives supporting aircraft maintenance and production operations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Oversight of regulatory compliance, inspection activities, and return-to-service processes in accordance with FAA and EASA regulations
  • Leadership of quality systems including inspection processes, technical data control, airworthiness determinations, and corrective action activities
  • Oversight of Safety Management System activities including hazard reporting, risk assessment, safety investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordination of internal audits, external audits, FAA oversight activities, and regulatory inspections
  • Maintenance and control of quality system documentation, technical records, Airworthiness Directives, service bulletins, and approved engineering documentation
  • Leadership, training, qualification oversight, and development of Quality Assurance Inspectors and inspection personnel
  • Monitoring of facility safety practices, tooling condition, environmental compliance, and hazardous material handling requirements
  • Coordination with maintenance and operational teams to ensure adherence to inspection procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate required; Inspection Authorization or eligibility to obtain authorization preferred
  • Ideal candidate has minimum 3 years of experience in a Chief Inspector or senior quality leadership role within an FAA certified repair station environment
  • Extensive knowledge of FAA regulations including Parts 21, 23, 39, 43, 65, 91, and 145, along with aviation quality systems and inspection oversight practices
  • Proficiency with electronic maintenance tracking systems, technical documentation, and standard Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise inspection personnel
  • High attention to detail, sound technical judgment, and commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives

The salary range is $97,600-$128,990 per year depending on experience. Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
