Role OverviewWe are hiring a
business-first, deal-savvy Head of Finance - not a back-office finance leader.
This leader will:
- Partner directly with CEO, COO, Sales, Engineering and Research
- Structure complex enterprise agreements
- Negotiate cloud/GPU contracts
- Build institutional-grade financial infrastructure
- Oversee audit readiness and treasury strategy
- Lead a high throughpout, high-leverage finance team
The role combines Strategic Finance, Commercial Finance, Infrastructure Economics, and Financial Operations.
Key Responsibilities1. Enterprise Deal Structuring & Commercial Partnership- Partner with Sales on multi-year enterprise agreements
- Model custom pricing, usage commitments, and rev-share structures
- Deliver
- Ensure ASC 606 compliance across complex agreements
- Track committed backlog and revenue waterfall
2. Compute Contract Negotiation & Optimization- Negotiate AWS/GCP/Azure committed use agreements
- Structure reserved capacity and co-location contracts
- Evaluate AMD/NVIDIA partnerships
- Drive 20-40% compute cost optimization where possible
- Integrate GPU utilization forecasting into financial models
This is a core competency for the role.
3. Strategic Finance & Planning- Own rolling 18-month financial model
- Develop unit economics (cost per generation, LTV:CAC by segment)
- Build investor-grade board reporting
- Drive scenario planning (growth vs. path to profitability)
- Support M&A and strategic partnership evaluation
4. Financial Infrastructure & Controls- Implement 5-day close
- Establish audit-ready financials
- Lead Big 4 audit relationship
- Oversee automation-first accounting systems
- Maintain investor-ready diligence materials
5. Treasury & Capital Strategy- Optimize cash position
- Develop investment policy
- Maintain 18+ month runway visibility - proactive fund raise readiness
- Manage FX exposure
Required Experience ProfileWe are targeting a high-caliber operator with:
- 10-15+ years progressive finance experience
- 5+ years at late-stage startup (Series C or beyond)
- Demonstrated enterprise deal structuring experience
- Direct negotiation experience with cloud/infrastructure vendors (strongly preferred)
- Strong technical accounting foundation (CPA preferred but not required)
- Experience with usage-based billing models
- Track record scaling ARR from <$20M toward $100M+
- Executive presence and board-facing communication skills
Strong preference for candidates with:
- AI / ML infrastructure exposure
- Compute-heavy business model experience
- SaaS + enterprise hybrid revenue models
- Experience preparing for PE or strategic investor diligence
