JOB SUMMARY
The CEO must be a self-starter and have strong communication skills. The CEO is responsible for leading Mission EDC's business attraction, retention, workforce and talent development efforts. The CEO will develop, implement, and manage the City's economic development strategy that will focus on the retention, expansion, and growth of existing area businesses and the attraction of new businesses and capital investment to the city.
Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS? Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Political Science, Government, Public Administration or related field. Master's preferred.? EDFP - Economic Development Finance Professional or CEcD - Certified Economic Developer designation is preferred.? A minimum of ten (10) years experience in an economic development or in a client approach to business consultation, or a closely related field.EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS? Applicant will be subject to a complete background investigation. Incomplete, inaccurate and/or failure to report information will cause the applicant rejection from consideration.? Applicant must take and pass a pre-employment drug, physical and pre-placement screening administered by the City of Mission appointed physician at the City's expense.? Must have a current valid class "C" driver license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with no more than two (2) moving traffic violations within the past two (2) years.

Lead the EDC team in the implementation of Mission EDC's strategy and the achievement of job creation and investment objectives? Oversee client projects and generate projects through lead development working through key staff? Establish processes and practices that facilitate effective client-based business attraction, expansion, and growth? Build effective channels of communication with City, County, State, Chambers of Commerce, School Districts, Utility Companies, Developers, Site Consultants, and others in the business community to aggressively promote Mission? Manage budgeted revenues and expenses? Manage the incentive process including with county and state agencies? Oversee strategy for Mission workforce and talent initiatives? Manage all EDC staff and consultants? Cultivate and develop the individual members of the EDC team in terms of job growth and satisfaction, career development, etc.? Maintain a public presence for Mission EDC's efforts and serve on related boards? Analyze existing marketing programs and develop a comprehensive marketing plan for the organization, which will include the promotion of residential, commercial and industrial development? Represent the organization in trade shows, conferences, seminars, workshops, etc.? Manage all public relation matters relating to the organization? Develop and manage industrial parks and/or sites and coordinate work with engineers, architects, attorneys, developers, contractors, financing, etc.? Negotiate deals with prospects and coordinate work with engineers, architects, attorneys, developers, contractors, financing, etc.? Manage all building projects owned by the organization and coordinate work with engineers, architects, attorneys, developers, contractors, financing, etc.? Communicate with prospects and maintain all information about the interest of all businesses or industrial prospects in contact with Mission and the organization in a confidential manner? Maintain an inventory of existing buildings and properties for development purposes? Responsible for carrying out all duties pertaining to the organization's Commercial Development Committee and work-plan including but not limited to presenting projects to the committee and the Board of Directors? Work with businesses to identify public and private financing and other development assistance programs.?
