Full Job Description
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the building systems for the Loutrel. This role will be expected to uphold the assets to a luxury hotel standard. The Director of Engineering must be able to work well with the hotel departments to ensure all projects and general maintenance activity is managed and performed regularly.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attend hotel daily lineup meetings
  • Conduct daily walk through of the hotel to ensure all equipment, lighting etc. are functioning and standards are upheld.
  • Daily inspections should include safety related aspects and systems for fire life safety systems as well as MSDS, lock out tag out, fire extinguisher checks, first aid kits, eye wash stations etc.
  • Understand the building as built and related design elements to include but not limited to hot water systems, elevators, warranties, code compliance, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Manages the physical plant including but not limited to: equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems, laundry equipment, car lifts.
  • Coordinate with local health, safety, fire, and building inspectors to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Understands energy management and seek savings when appropriate
  • Direct the activities and manage the performance of the maintenance team
  • Maintain key systems for both RFID and hard key locks
  • Conduct guest room inspections on a regular basis as well as prior to all VIP arrivals to ensure details of guest rooms are maintained at a luxury hotel level.
  • Create and manage SOP's for a Preventative Maintenance plan for systems, filter replacement, and regular occurring maintenance needs.
  • Establish contractor relationships and work policies and procedures and recurring contract agreements.
  • Meet with the General Manager daily to update on any repairs, projects or other engineering items. Focus on long term goals and building maintenance
  • Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Respond promptly to any guest inquiries or needs.
