What we're looking for:- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or trade school education preferred
- 3-5 years of hotel engineering or facilities maintenance experience, including supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and preventative maintenance programs
- Experience managing budgets, expenses, and capital projects
- Ability to lead, train, and schedule a maintenance team
- Fluency in English
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to asset preservation
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency situations as needed
- Sense of pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining a safe, well-maintained property
Responsibilities of the position:- Lead and oversee all engineering and maintenance operations for the hotel
- Create and manage schedules for the maintenance team to ensure adequate coverage and timely completion of work orders
- Maintain the overall condition and appearance of the hotel through effective preventative maintenance programs
- Ensure all guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and exterior grounds are maintained to brand standards
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and coordinate repairs to minimize guest impact
- Manage departmental budgets, expenses, purchasing, and checkbook reconciliation while maintaining cost controls
- Monitor utility usage and identify opportunities for energy conservation and operational efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including life safety requirements
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and preventative maintenance documentation
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool, and life safety systems
- Assist in planning and executing capital improvement projects to protect and enhance the hotel asset
- Train, coach, and develop engineering team members while fostering a culture of safety and accountability
- Communicate effectively with hotel leadership regarding ongoing projects, repairs, and operational needs
- Respond to guest concerns in a timely and professional manner to ensure an exceptional guest experience
- Attend all scheduled meetings, training sessions, and leadership functions
