Chief Engineer – Aerospace Actuation & Actuation Systems
Reporting to the Director of Engineering at CW Actuation Division you will provide technical oversight
and direction within Curtiss-Wright’s aerospace actuation group. In this role, you will serve as a technical
expert on aerospace actuation equipment and systems such as:
• Hydromechanical actuation systems
• Electromechanical actuation systems
• Motion control systems
• Flight control actuation
• Power drive units (PDUs) and associated actuation components
• High lift systems
• Integrated hardware/software aerospace systems
Salary: $173,200 to $225,000 + bonus opportunity

WHAT YOU BRING:
A successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience with the following areas of competence:
• Mechanical design
• Geared actuation
• Motors/power electronics
• Embedded software
• Safety-critical architecture
• Aerospace certification
• Systems engineering
• FAA/EASA compliance
• DAL certified integrated systems
A qualified candidate will have passion and experience providing technical direction within a
matrix engineering organization on Bids/Proposals and NPI/IRAD projects as well as meet the following criteria:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or equivalent) is required.
- A master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or equivalent) is preferred.
- 15-30yrs of experience in aerospace actuation / flight controls is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading communication with customers on technical topics, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Demonstrated experience in bid & proposal creation (i.e., technical proposals, NRE estimates, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience evaluating an refining/deriving requirements (flow down, decomposition, derivation, traceability, compliance, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience creating aerospace reliability analyses such as FMEA and FMECA.
- Demonstrated experience leading root cause / corrective action initiatives via 8D, A4, 5-why, Ishikawa, or equivalent
- A track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
- A track record of creating and refining technical governance / best practices and holding team members accountable to comply with governance.
- A track record of mentoring technical talent, demonstrating servant leadership practices, and advocating for team members success.
- A track record of advising senior leadership on technology development.
- A willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
