Shift: SHIFT1 Job SummaryReporting to the Chief Legal, Compliance & Corporate Affairs Officer, the Chief Counsel, Compliance, leads a global integrated compliance program, including trade compliance; sets strategic direction for the enterprise compliance function; and fosters a culture of integrity and accountability. This position also oversees cyber and privacy, AI governance, sustainability, records management, and legal operations. The Chief Counsel, Compliance, serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, the Board, and business leaders in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Job Responsibilities- Lead the global integrated compliance function aligned to enterprise risk priorities.
- Oversee sanctions and export-controls compliance.
- Partner with the Chief Information Security Officer to ensure cyber-related legal and regulatory compliance and oversee incident response.
- Lead the global data privacy function and AI governance.
- Responsible for enterprise records retention schedules, legal hold processes, and information governance policies in coordination with IT and business units.
- Oversee legal operations, including department-technology implementation, outside-counsel management, matter management/e-billing systems, and budgeting process.
- Drive process improvement, metrics, and efficiency initiatives across the legal and compliance functions.
Education RequirementsBachelor's Degree Required
Education Specifications- Bachelor's degree required.
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required.
- Qualified candidates will be licensed to practice law in the United States, a member in good standing with a State bar, and the ability to become a member of the Wisconsin State bar.
Experience RequirementsRequired- Minimum of 12 years' related experience and 5 years of management experience.
- Demonstrated business acumen developed through experience and/or education.
- High level of integrity.
- Excellent judgment, analytic skills, and ability to identify all relevant issues.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong management skills, including proven ability to develop talent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to achieve positive outcomes through influence.
- Ability to lead and/or work well in a team environment.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
