This position supports a business line that is expected to undergo a strategic ownership transition to an infrastructure private equity firm called Stonepeak in connection with a previously announced transaction. Upon completion of the transaction, BMO intends to retain a minority ownership interest in the business. CHIEF CAPITAL OFFICER-TRANSPORTATION & VENDOR FINANCELeads the design, build, and execution of the treasury, cash management, and capital markets functions, including standing up a new ABS securitization platform for the Transportation and Vendor Finance, and Floorplan portfolios. Minimizes Business's funding costs while broadening the debt investor base. Identifies and recommends actions to Senior Leaders based on market trends or regulatory developments to ensure the Business is at the forefront of an optimal funding platform. More specifically, this individual:
- Acts as lead role in recommending to Senior Leaders (CEO, CFO, Board) the Business's securitization & funding strategy over a multi-year horizon. This includes forecasting the structural cash position and liquidity metrics to optimize funding strategy while maintaining compliance with legal/regulatory requirements.
- Manages day-to-day liquidity and cash flow forecasting across Transportation Finance, Vendor Finance, and Floorplan portfolios, to meet lender obligations on an ongoing basis.
- Leads securitization tranches including end-to-end shelf setup, warehouse facility negotiation, trustee/servicer coordination, rating agency engagement at deal level. Owns lender reporting and covenant compliance across all financing facilities, including borrowing base certification, concentration limit monitoring across USD and CAD pools, and timely delivery of all servicer and lender reports.
- Owns the Business's market-risk hedging program - setting the interest-rate and FX hedging strategy, structuring and executing derivative transactions, and monitoring hedge effectiveness against approved risk appetite and limits.
- Oversees treasury operations including cash flow forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and hedge accounting for USD and CAD exposures, ensuring collections, remittances, and draws under each facility are accurately tracked.
- Develops and maintains reporting packages for the Board, and lenders covering liquidity position, capital structure, facility utilization, and excess spread performance across all financing facilities.
- Monitors the market environment and related metrics to ensure the business has access to diverse and cost-effective funding sources globally.
- Partners with business executives and leaders to develop funding and securitization capabilities, optimizing funding and capital opportunities across the Business
- Acts as key liaison with executives and leaders to review, recommend, and educate on funding costs as well as funding requirements.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and senior contact for external investment dealers looking to discuss and execute securitization and capital market funding opportunities.
- Maintains and develops relationships with existing lenders and ABS investors, and over time builds out the funding platform beyond the initial facility structure as origination volume and track record support additional capital markets access.
- Represents the Business on industry specialty groups and with regulators to advocate the Business's position on market or regulatory developments. Provides updates to Senior Executives on implications of regulatory changes and insights on peer positions.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for rating agency methodologies.
- Provides funding input for Risk Management protocols, models, and testing.
- Builds and leads a high-performing treasury and capital markets team, recruiting and developing the talent needed to scale the platform.
- Manages team performance through clear objectives, regular coaching and feedback, formal reviews, and succession planning for key roles.
- Within the mandate of this role, promotes and supports the Bank's Business's risk culture.
Qualifications:- One or more of the following: MBA Finance, CA, CFA
- 15+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Capital Markets or Treasury, including experience at or advising a specialty finance company, asset manager, or PE-backed platform preferred Expert knowledge of financial analysis and financial modeling
- Strong understanding of accounting and tax concepts
- Strong understanding of capital management
- Expert knowledge of securitization or capital markets with transaction experience
- Experience with lender and investor reporting and covenant compliance under asset-backed or structured credit facilities
- Familiarity with multi-currency treasury operations, including FX hedge accounting
- Strong knowledge of various research tools, including Bloomberg
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to influence senior executives and other internal and external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent project management skills and able to manage and lead cross functional teams
Salary:$160,000.00 - $300,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
