Position: Chief Artistic Officer

Salary: $325,000 - $375,000 Annually
Position Summary:The Chief Artistic Officer, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Music Director and the other artistic partners, provides general management, strategic guidance and articulation of organizational goals and policy for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association with particular oversight of the programming direction for all concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the non-presentation concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. This role also oversees the Insight programs and the archives.
Position Elements:- Work with Music Director and artistic leadership team on shaping Music Director's own programs, overall institution artistic planning, festivals, and themes.
- Lead programming team in creating and implementing the creative direction of the LA Phil, including designing signature festivals, productions and commissions.
- Identify new artistic talent for the Association including titled conductors and artistic consultants, guest conductors, guest soloists, and composers.
- In collaboration with the VP of Orchestra Management and Production, develop and maintain the LA Philharmonic master calendar.
- Communicate artist/conductor program issues and special needs to Orchestra Management, Production, and Library.
- Maintain positive relationships with guest soloists and conductors, including entertaining at post-concert events.
- Oversee budget for supervised departments.
- Work closely with Development, Marketing and Public Relations departments in shaping the funding and promotion of LA Phil concerts and artistic content.
- Serve as member of Executive Team, and serve on Board Committees as assigned.
