Job Description

Field Work Arrangement:This is a field-based position that requires up to 75% travel to dealerships within the assigned territory on a recurring basis. The selected candidate must currently reside within the territoryor be willing to relocate to Detroit, MIor a surrounding area approved by leadership within 60 days of the start date.

The District Sales Manager (DSM) is responsible for managing and actively engaging dealers through regular in-person visits and hands-on collaboration. This role requires a strong on-the-ground presence, working directly with dealerships to support and represent the brand's products and services. They may be involved in various initiatives including developing and implementing marketing initiatives, customer retention, product displays, financial analysis, and training. All to ensure that our dealers understand and succeed in selling our products to the final customer. A day in the life of a DSM is very fast paced, and no two days will be the same. To succeed in this position, you must like to connect and influence people, but also be able to manage your time properly.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a liaison between GM, its dealerships, and additional GM Partners

  • Grow and foster partnerships

  • Facilitate mentorship and consulting to ensure monthly/yearly sales objectives are met

  • Track dealership Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) or other customer feedback resources to identify and address deficiencies or opportunities

  • Assist in product launches to ensure streamlined marketing and advertising between dealer, independent aftermarket (IAM) and GM

  • Monitor Dealership personnel training and ensure compliance with GM requirements/objectives

  • Assist with Dealership inventory management, including vehicle and or parts ordering and inventory stabilizing

  • Analyze Dealer sales, local market, and competition to identify revenue opportunities

  • Increase sales of GM vehicles and Accessory parts to its customers

  • Assist in customer problem resolution

  • Travel to your dealers in your designated region

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

  • 5+ years' experience in Sales, Marketing, or related fields with a proven track record of driving revenue growth.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools.

  • Ability to travel up to 75% to different locations within your territory.

  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis

Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate. This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.
