This is an entry level role with responsibility for performing a variety of routine and non-routine tasks in a regulated laboratory environment in order to support, as well as help develop, pharmaceutical platforms. The chemist I will work in conformance with company policies, current Good Lab Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and regulatory requirements and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements. Individuals will perform procedures for process/analysis and assist their manager and peers with routine and non-routine Quality Control and Research procedures.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Complies with all quality system requirements
- Performs preparation, collection, measurement and recordkeeping of samples
- Documents test and data analysis results
- Participates on cross-functional teams for continuous improvement activities
- Communicates with team members to ensure schedule requirements are met
- Applies knowledge of performed tasks to elucidate test method failures
- Analyzes and deduces data and collates test results
- Communicates priority and timeliness for completion of customer requests
- Helps drive the team to meet business goals
- Supports development area as needed / commercial QC release
- Learns and understands the manufacturing organization that the lab supports
Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree and 0 years relevant experience.
Nice to Have: - General wet chemistry laboratory techniques and/or experience with liquid chromatography (UPLC/HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), dissolution (Apparatus 2 and 7), Karl Fischer, FT-IR, and UV-Vis.
- Experience with chromatography software (Empower). Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- The ability to work in a laboratory with solvents and pharmaceutical substances.
- Solid technical ability, experience with equipment set up, and troubleshooting skills.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. a7 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$68,000.00 - $102,000.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
