Reporting tothe Nursing Director or Manager, this position requires the full understandingand active participation in fulfilling the mission of Redlands CommunityHospital. It is expected the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with ourStandards of Performance. The Charge Nurse adheres to the Patient's FirstPhilosophy of Safety, Compassion, and Efficiency. S/he is able to coordinatecare not only for individual patients, but also to lead the care delivery ofmultiple patients in the nursing care area in accordance with policies and proceduresof the Hospital. S/he collaborates with other professional disciplines/unitleaders to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery. S/he is responsiblefor assigning nursing personnel to specific patients for whom they will carefor based upon their skill, experience and temperament, and the acuity of thepatients. This position serves as resource of information and coordinates allactivities within the department. Responsibilities and related duties to becarried out by the Charge Nurse as delegated by the Nurse Manager with theappropriate level of authority and ability to utilize independent judgment toensure compliance.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
1. Graduateof an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program required.
2. Threeto five years of relevant experience in the assigned service area preferred.
3. Demonstratedexpertise in the clinical area, and leadership ability preferred.
4. Basicknowledge of computer (Word, Excel, and e-mail functions).
5. BSNpreferred, MSN desired.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
1. Current CA State licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
2. Current CPR certificate required.
3. Current ACLS certificate required
4. NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire
