This is a Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to RN candidates with greater than 1 year of experience

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 1-2 years of experience, and up to $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of RN experience!
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

The Child Psychiatric Unit at Spring Harbor Hospital specializes in the care of children. We offer a 12-bed unit designed for the care of children, generally ages from 6-12 years old and as young as 4, who require acute mental health treatment. Typically, these patients are an imminent risk to themselves or others or are unable to function at a lower level of care due to their psychiatric symptoms. Our multidisciplinary patient care team specializes in the treatment of diagnoses most commonly found in children and adolescents.

Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Charge - Behavioral Health role assumes frontline leadership in the daily operations of the department and works collaboratively with departmental staff, physicians/advanced practice practitioners, hospital staff, pre-hospital providers and community agencies to provide oversight and direction for the delivery of safe patient and family centered care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must complete within 30 days of start date. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Certification RN-BC preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of relevant experience preferred, experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.

The pay range for this position is $37.09 to $50.17 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
