About Our Practice

The CFO Advisory practice within CBIZ Private Equity Advisory is a premier finance and accounting consultancy for middle market private equity groups and companies.

Our team of professionals brings deep experience across operational accounting, Controllership, CFO leadership, and private equity financial reporting environments. We are a trusted partner to more than 350 private equity clients and have supported nearly 2,000 portfolio companies through transitions and transactions.

We support our clients across the private equity investment lifecycle, from our proprietary FORWARD™ transaction readiness and post-acquisition program through buy-and-build strategies and value creation, and ultimately a successful exit. Our work is focused on helping portfolio companies build scalable finance functions, improve financial reporting, and operate more effectively in high-growth environments.

Our practice has experienced significant growth in recent years, and our team and culture are truly what sets us apart. We are headquartered in the Philadelphia area but operate as a national team with limited, purposeful travel based on client needs.

You will:
  • Develop collaborative, lasting relationships with private equity clients and portfolio company management teams
  • Receive hands-on support from firm leadership and exposure to a wide variety of clients, industries, and engagement types
  • Gain experience across multiple areas of accounting and finance, building both technical and operational expertise
  • Work in an environment that values flexibility, accountability, and consistent high-quality execution

We offer market-competitive compensation with a strong and consistent track record of bonus payouts tied to performance and practice results. Promotions are merit-based and driven by demonstrated ability, client and business impact, and consistency. We've maintained exceptionally strong retention and continued strong compensation through periods of uncertainty.

We place significant emphasis on flexibility and sustainability, ensuring our team members can perform at a high level while maintaining balance outside of work, including a reduced travel schedule compared to industry norms. We are committed to supporting long-term and accelerated career growth, both within CBIZ and across the broader private equity ecosystem.
