About the Job

CALLING ALL CPA'S (This is not a remote position. Must be willing and able to work in an office setting.) THIS POSITION WOULD OFFICE IN CONWAY, AR.

Are you a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who holds an active license (preferably) in the state of Arkansas? Do you have recent experience working for a CPA firm so you're up to date, in the know? Are you ready to make a change and see if the grass really IS greener? Then Bell & Company is looking for you.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone that really likes to do taxes. Simple but true. We need someone who understands how to prepare tax returns. The qualified candidate will also have strong experience at a Supervisor level and able to lead, direct, and review work of Staff Accountants. While we do prepare individual returns, we focus more on business returns; some are complex with multiple entities or multi-state clients or maybe a non-profit group or even a trust. This diversity in our client base brings diversity to the work you will do. Do you enjoy a challenge?

Tell me more about the work and expectations...you ask?

Sure thing. We expect you to come ready to collaborate, share information, and ask when you don't know something. Don't spin your wheels too long on something because that just wastes time and money. Be open to others coming to you when they know you are the more experienced or more knowledgeable one on something.

We expect you to learn our company, policies, procedures and why we do what we do and how we do it. Once you understand these things we welcome suggestions and ideas to improve client service, processes, or ways to collaborate more effectively.

Additionally, you will be expected to (gotta love bullet points):

  • Know how to prioritize your work and complete it timely and accurately.
  • Prepare business and individual tax returns; may do some bookkeeping.
  • Review returns prepared by Staff Accountants.
  • Share in the management of the office as needed.
  • Keep up with tax changes and industry standards by continuing education; professional associations and professional periodicals.
  • Be able to communicate effectively both written and orally.
  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships as well as with your coworkers.
  • Represent Bell & Company in a professional and positive way at networking or other professional events.
  • Assist in training other Staff Accountants as needed.
  • And several other things that there's not enough space to add here.

So, what are we looking for in a qualified candidate?

If you are a licensed CPA then you already possess the educational qualifications we require. However, we also require at least 5 years (more is better) of recent public accounting experience with at least 3 years as a CPA. We are looking for someone who is professional, positive, and dependable. We also look for someone who knows Word, Excel, Adobe, UltraTax, PracticeCS, Engagement, Quickbooks - desk top and online, Sureprep and Safesend. And, just a nice person who can work independently and collaboratively.

What about salary and benefits?

Your experience as a CPA in public accounting will determine your starting salary. Currently our salary range for a Supervisor is $98,280 to $147,420.00.

As part of your total compensation package, we offer a compliment of benefits to include paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), paid health*/dental/vision insurance plus more.

Does this resonate with you?

If after reading this you're finding yourself nodding yes, then we need to talk. It never hurts to have a conversation. Please go to www.bellandcompany.net/career and hit the APPLY button. There are a handful of questions to answer and then a place to upload your resume. Come on...you know you want to!

PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to sponsor candidates who have VISA's or other Employment Authorization Documents (EAD).

(Only qualified candidates will be contacted.)
