This role supports a federal contract at the Maxwell Ambulatory Healthcare Center (Maxwell Air Force Base) in Montgomery, AL, working Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM.
As a Certified Nurse Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Deployment Related Health Service (DRHS) and Annual Mental Health Assessment services, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance within a federal healthcare setting. You will collaborate closely with physicians and staff, manage patient care, and contribute to ongoing improvements in health service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver DRHS and Annual Mental Health Assessment services in accordance with granted privileges
- Supervise and provide screening, medical care, and examinations for routine, acute, and chronic conditions
- Administer immunizations and diagnose, treat, and counsel patients
- Collaborate with physicians to manage chronic illnesses and order/request diagnostic tests
- Oversee and manage DHRA-related information and serve as a resource to staff
- Conduct medical record reviews using applicable clinical practice guidelines
- Practice ethical prescribing and dispensing of medications
- Train, monitor, and delegate DRHA services to staff
- Promote workplace safety and health standards
- Maintain awareness of trends in disease management, population health, and preventive health
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments to reduce clinic visits
- Provide administrative support, including developing plans, attending meetings, and drafting/briefing presentations within contract scope
RequirementsRequired Qualifications:- Master's degree in a nursing specialty from an accredited institution recognized by ACEN or CCNE
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) credential
- Certified Nurse Practitioner clinical work experience with at least 24 months within the last 36 months
- Extensive knowledge of pharmacology and HIPAA medical privacy/confidentiality requirements
- Experience conducting medical record reviews using clinical practice guidelines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience analyzing clinical/administrative data
- English proficiency (spoken and written)
- Eligible for DoD Common Access Card (CAC) access
