We're looking for aRed Seal Certified Electrician to join ourAthabasca OSB Division, located inSlave Lake, Alberta. Thisstate-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative products for customers around the world.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Experience working as an Electricianwith avalid Interprovincial Red Seal ticket.
  • Strong diagnostic andproblem solvingskills.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)-preferablyJD Edwards.
  • Strong communicationskills.
  • Ability towork independentlyand with a team.
  • Experience withMicrosoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Apply your knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)andHuman Machine Interface (HMI) systemstotroubleshoot electrical issuesand come up with safe, reliable fixes.
  • Use your broad electrical experience to dopreventative maintenanceas well asinstallations and upgrades, working on a variety ofmotors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders.
  • Come up with innovative solutions toimprove equipment reliability.
  • Apply yourorganizational and planning skillsto carry out maintenance projects and programs.
