Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA Approved Respiratory Care Program - Associates
  • Current NJ-RESP License from New Jersey State Respiratory Care Board
  • Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in Pediatric and Adult critical care preferred
  • High School diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and monitor mechanical ventilatory support
  • Administer non-invasive ventilation and medical gas delivery systems
  • Manage airway and provide therapeutic treatments like chest physical therapy and IPV therapy
  • Conduct arterial blood gas acquisition and analysis
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory care processes
  • Assist with bedside procedures including tracheostomies and bronchoscopy
  • Transport patients internally and externally as needed

Full Job Description
Short Description

Patient assessment, mechanical ventilatory support monitoring, non-invasive ventilation support, administration of medical gas delivery systems (i.e.: heliox, nitric, oxygen compressed air, etc...).

 

Humidification and aerosol therapy, airway management, delivery of aerosolized & instilled medications, chest physical therapy, vest therapy, IPV therapy, in-exsuffalator therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arterialblood gas acquisition & analysis, Transcutaneous pc02 & po2monitoring, pulse oximetry monitoring & trending, ventilatory weaning, peak flow monitoring, assist with bedside tracheostomies, and bronchoscopy.

 

Internal and external patient transporting, patient and family education.

Experience Required

 Post Respiratory Care program graduate.

 

 1-2 years preferred Pediatric and Adult critical care experience.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or GED and Graduate of an AMA Approved Respiratory Care Program - Associates.

License/Certification Requirements

Current NJ-RESP - New Jersey State Respiratory Care Board License.

 

Valid BLS and ACLS
