Full Job Description
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Community Care Ambulance Network (CCAN) serves as the senior executive leader of the organization and is accountable for its overall strategic direction, operational performance, financial stewardship, and administrative management. The CEO reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for achieving organizational goals, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining financial sustainability, and fostering productive relationships with CCAN's two owner health systems. As a jointly owned organization, CCAN operates as a distinct corporate entity under the governance of a Board of Directors composed of representatives from both owner health systems. The CEO serves as the primary executive interface between the organization and its owners while protecting the independent operational integrity of CCAN and its mission to deliver exceptional emergency and non-emergency medical transportation services across the communities it serves. The CEO reports directly to the Board of Directors of CCAN. The Board is composed of designated representatives from CCAN's two owner health systems and exercises fiduciary and strategic oversight of the organization. The CEO is accountable to the Board for all aspects of organizational performance, financial health, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance. The CEO provides governance support to the Board by preparing accurate, timely, and complete reports and recommendations, by advancing Board-approved strategic priorities, and by maintaining transparent, consistent communication between the organization and its owner health systems.
