Job SummaryBattelle has been providing research, development, test and evaluation services in support of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives defense for over 60 years. As part of our mission support, Battelle is working with the US Army G8 - Capability Development (CD) Directorate - to develop resourcing, equipping, and the modernization of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense capabilities. Our support will facilitate the advancement of the CBRND systems to support next generation CBRN, sensing, threat warning, reporting and hazard prediction, protection, and mitigation.
Coordinates across integrated Layered Protection portfolios to align requirements, resources, acquisition activities, and senior leader engagement across the Services. Integrates program updates, emerging issues, and operational requirements to maintain a common operating picture for Executive Agent management.
Synchronize CBRN modernization with broader Joint and Service initiatives, ensuring defense systems remain effective against evolving global threats.
Responsibilities- Serves as a Synchronization Officer (SSO) within the Chemical and Biological Defense Program (CBDP) Branch, Formation-Based Layered Protection (FBLP) Warfighting Division, Capability Directorate, HQDA G-8. Supports the Army's responsibilities as Executive Agent for the defense-wide Chemical and Biological Defense Program by synchronizing activities across the Military Services, Joint Staff, and interagency stakeholders.
- Facilitates coordination among the Services, Joint partners, and program offices to support emerging requirements, contingency operations, and senior leader decision making. Develops and communicates the Executive Agent narrative on portfolio status, resourcing, and emerging issues to support senior leader awareness and enterprise synchronization.
- In coordination with the Service representatives, coordinate, assess, and analyze CBRN defense doctrinal, operational, tactical, and training requirements (Doctrine, Organizational, Training, material, Leadership. Personnel, Facilities and Policy (DOTmLPF-P) analysis.
- In accordance with DoW and HQDA guidance and in coordination with Service representatives and stakeholders, conduct reviews and assessments of business management and governance policy, guidance and agreements for the oversight, management, and execution of EA responsibilities and the CBDP enterprise; identify gaps, efficiencies, and improvements; initiate revisions and/or development of policy, guidance and agreements.
- Develop White Papers for CBRND requirements, initiatives, and challenges.
- Monitor and respond to classified and unclassified tasks from HQDA and DoW, ensuring CBRN-related queries are answered with technical accuracy.
Key Qualifications- A BS or prior military experience.
- Five years of experience in CBRN defense.
- CBRND Technical Literacy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel.
- Active Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications- A Master's degree in business administration, Finance, or a STEM field.
- Five-ten years' experience in CWMD or CBRN defense
- Hold or obtain DAWIA certification in Program Management.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
