Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 / year

Short Description

As Catering Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for ServiceNow's executive catering program. This position supports a Monday-Friday operation focused on scratch cooking, elevated hospitality, and highly customized VIP and executive-level events. Reporting directly to the Executive Catering Chef, the Catering Sous Chef will oversee daily culinary execution, menu development, team leadership, and operational excellence for a dynamic and fast-paced catering environment.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Executive Catering Chef to plan, develop, and execute customized menus for VIP, executive, and special event catering programs.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of scratch-made cuisine for a wide range of catered events, ensuring exceptional quality, creativity, and presentation.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including production planning, ordering, inventory management, and food cost controls.
  • Supervise and develop a team of four hourly culinary associates and temporary staff as needed.
  • Manage employee scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and workplace safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and purchasing practices while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
  • Support the implementation of new culinary initiatives, seasonal menu offerings, and innovative catering concepts.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and event teams to ensure seamless event execution and outstanding client satisfaction.
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling to support early morning, evening, or special event requirements as business needs dictate.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent combination of education and professional culinary experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience in catering, corporate dining, hotels, restaurants, or other high-end foodservice environments.
  • Experience supporting VIP, executive-level, or customized catering programs strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with scratch cooking and menu development.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage labor, and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, quality assurance, inventory management, and food cost controls.
  • Experience with ordering systems, inventory tracking, and production management.
  • High-volume catering or complex foodservice operations experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and other foodservice technology platforms.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and hospitality skills with a client-focused approach.
