Full Job Description
The Category Manager at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive category strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance across a specific portfolio of direct or indirect materials and services. This role drives strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement activities within their assigned categories.
* Develop and implement category strategies aligned with company goals, including market analysis, spend analysis, and demand forecasting.
* Lead strategic sourcing activities, including Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and negotiation processes to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
* Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers, fostering strong relationships and managing supplier performance through regular business reviews and scorecards.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to ensure category strategies meet internal stakeholder needs.
* Monitor commodity markets, technological advancements, and supply chain trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
* Drive cost reduction initiatives, value engineering projects, and working capital improvements within the assigned categories.
* Ensure compliance with Jabil's purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
* Manage contracts, service level agreements, and other commercial terms with suppliers.
* Resolve complex supply chain issues, including quality discrepancies, delivery delays, and pricing disputes.
* Prepare and present category performance reports, insights, and recommendations to senior management.
