Description

Job Summary
Under the direction of radiologist, performs Cat Scan or MRI Procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required

Essential Functions
• Patient and Room Preparation: This task includes a) entering patient data into Epic and other appropriate computer systems as necessary. b) Placing the patient on the scan table in the correct position for the scan to be performed. c) Obtain appropriate scout image for procedure.
• Obtain cross sectional images: This task includes the proper setting of protocols and sequences to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist.
• Direct involvement during procedure: This task involves a) the assistance at the side of the radiologist during biopsy procedures as needed. b) Constant attention to the progression of the procedure while in the control room, monitoring progression of biopsy procedure c) Involved with operating injector when necessary.
• Photographing and processing of images: This task includes photographing and labeling scan images, processing and displaying final images on viewing machines for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain all necessary records of image slices, injections, etc.
• Observe all rules and regulations regarding radiation safety for patients and staff.
• Train other associates and students in CAT Scan or MRI procedures.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area.
• Perform duties of a 4T technologist as needed.
• Perform other related assigned tasks

Requirements

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist (R.T.).
• ARRT registration in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or Cat Scan (CT) required.
• Certified in IV Contrast Administration.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS).
• Previous MRI/CT experience, preferred.

SKILLS Administering Injections

ARRT cert in Cat Scan, NYS DOH cert in Radiology Technologist, 1-2 years + experience, BLS certified

Computed Radiography

Computer experience with Epic

Digital Radiology

Radiology PACS

Safe Patient Handling

Salary Description

55 to 58 Per Hour
