Job Description

The CRT Integration Lead is responsible for leading the integration, troubleshooting, and technical execution of Casing Running Tool (CRT) systems during rig-up, commissioning, and live operations. This role serves as the technical authority in the field for CRT integration activities, ensuring hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems function correctly and safely within rig environments.

The CRT Integration Lead is accountable for system readiness, diagnostics, and problem resolution, supporting both new rig deployments and ongoing operations. The ideal candidate has a mechatronics or electromechanical background, strong hands-on oilfield experience, and the ability to operate independently in a rotational, on-call field role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CRT system installation, calibration, integration, and troubleshooting on rig sites.
  • Perform rig survey required for the CRT integrated operations.
  • Provide real-time technical support and problem-solving during critical operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and diagnostics of equipment to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Understand and apply rig codes, safety regulations, and rig operational protocols during system integration.
  • Utilize PLC systems (such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens) for diagnostics, automation integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with flush-mounted slips, including basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation during tubular handling.
  • Lead field operations, including rig-up and rig-down activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, and technical records related to maintenance and integration tasks.
  • Provide feedback and contribute to the continual improvement of training program & materials, based on evaluation of training effectiveness.
  • Function as a field mentor by training and guiding CDS Tech I, II, III employees.
  • Carry and manage critical spare parts on assigned vehicles to support uptime and rapid response.
  • Maintain effective communication with rig crew, shop personnel, and management to ensure job efficiency.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, maintain professionalism in all interactions, and represent the company's values in the field.
  • Comply with all Nabors policies, systems, and standards across departments (HSE, HR, Finance, Legal, etc. during all field and workshop activities.
  • Understand and follow financial and authorization responsibilities as delegated by management.
  • Perform various other duties and activities assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED. Technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 3-5 years of oilfield experience, preferably with mechanized or integrated equipment.
  • Proficient in mechanical systems with working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical components.
  • Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and service bulletins.
  • Experience with PLC programming/troubleshooting (preferred: Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Strong working knowledge of rig equipment, rig operations, and applicable rig codes.
  • Effective troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in dynamic field environments.
  • Safety-conscious and service-oriented with a proactive work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to coordinate with rig crew, shop staff, and supervisors.
  • Logical and methodical, results driven. Determined and able to use sound judgment to achieve business results.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and with tight timelines.
  • Proficient knowledge of standard office software such as MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with 3rd party CRT manufacturers (e.g., McCoy, Volant).
  • Knowledge of API and ISO standards relevant to oilfield equipment maintenance.
  • Proficiency in condition monitoring techniques and failure analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with rig shop workflows and inventory systems.
  • Certified electrician with ExProof accreditation.

SKILLS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and failure trends.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments and with external clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 80%) to rig locations, including extended fieldwork hours.
  • Capable of working in office, workshop, and rig-site environments as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, climbing stairs, and repetitive motions, work around machinery in service and rig site facilities
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; may be required to operate company vehicles.
