• Centre decisions on students and establish a clear vision for inclusive, culturally responsive learning, with high expectations and multiple pathways to success for every learner.
• Lead teams through a collaborative management style and address conflict in a timely, fair, and constructive manner.
• Mobilize staff, parents, students, and community partners around the mission, vision, and priorities of the school or centre.
• Build and sustain trusting relationships grounded in understanding, caring, collaboration, and clear communication.
• Communicate with impact in English and effectively in French, both in writing and in live settings with diverse audiences.
• Demonstrate a forward-looking approach to technology and artificial intelligence, using emerging tools thoughtfully to enhance teaching and learning, support effective decision-making, and improve organizational effectiveness.
• Turn data into action by setting meaningful targets, selecting appropriate strategies, monitoring progress, and adjusting course when needed.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of applicable Québec curriculum and educational frameworks, supported by a clear, evidence-informed pedagogical vision.
• Demonstrate sound judgment and effectiveness in time management, planning, organization, and decision-making.
• Understand the regulatory and organizational environment in which schools and centres operate, including applicable regulations, collective agreements, Board policies, and procedures.
• Model lifelong learning and champion ongoing professional growth for themselves and others.

LEGAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• A Québec teaching brevet is required for appointment to a position.*
• A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a relevant area.
• A 30-credit program in Educational Leadership is required, although a successful candidate will be given five years to acquire this. Completion of this program at the time of application will be considered an asset

*We welcome applications from qualified teachers across Canada. While a Québec teaching brevet is required for appointment to an administrative position, candidates who are currently working toward obtaining their brevet are encouraged to apply and may participate fully in the selection process.

• An application letter outlining your vision for a welcoming and effective school or centre community and explaining how your background, experience, and expertise would contribute to bringing that vision to life.
• A short video introduction. After submitting your application, you will receive an email with instructions and a link to upload your video.
• A copy of your Québec teaching brevet, where applicable, for external candidates.
• The names and contact information of three professional references, including one of your two most recent supervisors. Letters of reference for external candidates will be considered an asset.
• An up-to-date curriculum vitae outlining relevant experience, formal education, professional development, and leadership activities.

SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection process includes multiple phases designed to provide candidates with different opportunities to demonstrate their leadership capacity, judgment, communication skills, and approach to problem-solving.

Candidates may be asked to participate in a series of activities, including a video exercise, small-group sessions, and an individual interview. Professional references may be contacted at any point during the selection process.

Candidates selected to advance to the evening session on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, and may also be required to attend in-person interviews on October 29, 2026. Retained candidates will receive information throughout the process.

Successful candidates will be added to the LBPSB Administrator Candidate List for potential future placement. Appointment to a position is not guaranteed and may occur at any time as organizational needs and opportunities arise.
