Job Description:- Troubleshoots and corrects recording instrument malfunctions or unusual patient problems that interfere with recordings.
- Independently prioritizes clinical and administrative work and identifies process improvements.
- Processes patient and department records, ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards.
- Assists physicians in performing specialized cardiovascular procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation, and electrophysiology studies.
- Evaluates and documents patient status, responds appropriately, and intervenes or refers in a timely manner to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates clinical expertise, competence, and proficiency based on knowledge and skills, exceeding essential job responsibilities per department standards.
- Commits to continued learning and shares knowledge with patients and co-workers, demonstrating team player characteristics and punctuality.
- Participates in performance improvement activities to evaluate care outcomes driven by curiosity and a desire to know more.
- Accepts accountability for using evidence to monitor and improve care based on regulatory and practice standards.
- Effectively and safely uses equipment, time, personnel, and supplies to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Adapts to changing workload, patient needs, technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing through priority setting and flexibility.
- Maintains high skill level through participation in CQI, in-services, ongoing education, and attendance at 80% of staff meetings, providing on-call coverage outside of standard hours per department and facility policy.
- Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient responses by informing the primary healthcare team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
- Adjusts approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures and deals with various personality types, ages, and levels of consciousness.
