Job Description:

  • Provides primary care and treatment to patients under the auspices of the supervising physician
  • Assures timely and accurate entries of medical histories, progress notes and treatment recommendations in the patients' medical records
  • Provides service in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Practices within scope of practice as delineated by education and training including, but not limited to:
  • Conforms to prescriptive privileges
  • Obtains co-signature by the supervising physician on all prescriptions written
  • Does not prescribe narcotics
  • Refers patients for laboratory, x-ray and specialty care for needed services that cannot be provided at the practice
  • Assures that adequate patient health records are maintained and transferred, as required, when patient care is transferred
  • Participates with supervising physician in a periodic review of the patients' health records.
  • Assures all patient management documentation, including pharmaceutical modalities, is outlined in the patient's medical record and signed by the supervising physician.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
