Overview
Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practice Provider
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center - Lebanon, NH


We are seeking an APP who would rotate in the ICU/Floor/and operating room. The opportunity to act as first assistant for Cardiac operations is available to experienced surgical PAs or APRNs with RNFA certification. OR first assist will include a full range of coronary, complex valve, aortic, and minimally invasive procedures, as well as endoscopic and open vein harvesting.

In addition, there are ample opportunities to be involved in research. A faculty appointment through Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will be requested.

Position Highlights:
  • Spend approximately 40-50% time in the OR as a first-assist. Vein harvesting and Cardiac surgery 1 st assist experience REQUIRED
  • Work rotating day shifts in the ICU/Floor covering the cardiac surgery inpatient service and evaluating new consults.
  • Schedule is 7 days in a 2 week period
  • Minimal need for clinic coverage
  • Night and weekend coverage of post-op patient management at an average of 4 shifts per month
  • OR call is 1:6 on nights, weekends, and holidays; call is taken from home

Requirements:
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Current (or eligible) certification to practice as a PA or APRN in NH
  • Successful completion of an approved PA/APRN program.
  • Specialty certification as RNFA or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • First-assist, cardiac, and vein harvesting experience required. ICU experience preferred.
