Job Title: Capture/Business Development Manager

Position Summary:

enGenius Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a driven, experienced Capture Manager / Business Development Professional to lead the pursuit of Prime and Subcontract opportunities within the Federal and DoD sectors. This key role works closely with the President and Proposal Team to identify, shape, and manage high-value opportunities throughout all phases of the capture lifecycle. We are a small government contractor, and this position offers the opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact on company growth strategy and future contract awards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification and capture of new business opportunities, maintaining a robust pipeline aligned with DoD and federal agency priorities.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of the capture lifecycle, including stage-gate reviews, capture strategies, and Bid/No-Bid recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to understand customer needs, identify trends, assess the competitive landscape, and develop winning capture strategies.
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with new and existing customers; engage early in the acquisition process to influence requirements and positioning.
  • Maintain regular engagement with government and industry stakeholders to shape and position opportunities.
  • Monitor federal contracting acquisition forecasts and Sam.gov to identify, track, and plan for upcoming opportunities.
  • Navigate and monitor federal contracting portals to retrieve documents and review opportunities
  • Analyze solicitation requirements and contribute to the development of clear, compelling, and compliant proposal content.
  • Support the Proposal Manager with writing assignments and actively participate in proposal color team reviews.
  • Develop opportunity-specific win themes, discriminators, and strategies aligned with customer mission needs. Capture Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive capture plans, including win themes, value propositions, technical solutions, pricing strategies, and Basis of Estimate (BOE) information.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; demonstrate strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, SharePoint, CRM systems, and other BD tools to support capture activities.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate-level capture or business development role supporting federal contracts.
  • Experience capturing opportunities as a growing small business contractor
  • Track record of leading captures through award
  • Solid understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other commonly used business software tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Shipley capture training or certification is preferred.
