Fixed Income Specialist
Position Description:
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Fixed Income is fully integrated into MSCO ecosystem, through a formal joint venture. Sales and content professionals on the MSWM FI desk actively assess and manage risk, while working with Morgan Stanley’s Financial Advisors and UHNW clients on portfolio strategy, portfolio construction, individual and/or portfolio analytics, timely market commentary and content, as well as in-depth security analysis. The team leverages both internal and external credit analysis, research, and strategy to assist Financial Advisors in managing fixed income portfolios.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Help curate and distribute top ideas from the Fixed Income Desk to the field via email, BlastIM, and national conference calls
- Analyze event-driven “special situations” within credit, including liability management exercises, M&A, and other material corporate events to provide Financial Advisors with context and guidance
- Work closely with sales and other content specialists to roundtable and scale best ideas
- Leverage Morgan Stanley Research and Strategy to help aid in positioning and portfolio construction
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence to efficiently scale content creation and distribution
- Adhere to and help ensure accordance with MSWM FI policy and procedures to aid in risk governance
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Fixed Income Sales & Trading
- Fundamental understanding of global Fixed Income markets
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A passion for capital markets and a constant drive to learn more
- Licenses: Series 7, 66 (63 & 65), or within 2 months of hire
- Proficient Microsoft excel knowledge and AIMS functionality
- Ability to identify investment opportunities and analyze client portfolios. A fast-paced environment requires an aptitude for analyzing and interpreting often complex information in a timely manner.
- Candidate must have entrepreneurial attitude to help create best ideas for the Morgan Stanley client base
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
