Full Job Description
YOUR MISSION

As Capital Equipment Commodity Manager at True Anomaly, you will own the strategy, sourcing, and supplier relationships for the capital equipment and tooling that power our manufacturing and test operations. You will manage high-value, long-lead acquisitions - from CNC machines and cleanroom equipment to test infrastructure and facility buildouts - working closely with engineering, facilities, and finance to get the right equipment in place on time and on budget. This role requires someone who understands both the technical requirements of complex capital equipment and the commercial rigor needed to negotiate and manage major vendor contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own the commodity strategy for capital equipment spend across True Anomaly's manufacturing, test, and facilities operations
  • Lead sourcing events for high-value equipment acquisitions - defining requirements, issuing RFPs, evaluating proposals on technical and commercial merit, and recommending award decisions
  • Build and maintain a qualified supplier base for capital equipment categories including precision manufacturing equipment, test and measurement systems, cleanroom and environmental infrastructure, and facility-related capital
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate spend, leverage preferred suppliers, and drive total cost of ownership reductions across the capital portfolio
  • Serve as the primary commercial owner of capital equipment supplier relationships - from initial sourcing through delivery, installation, acceptance testing, and warranty period
  • Negotiate capital equipment contracts, including pricing, payment milestones, delivery schedules, acceptance criteria, warranty terms, and spare parts agreements
  • Manage supplier performance against contractual commitments, escalating and resolving issues related to schedule slippage, technical non-conformance, or cost overruns
  • Coordinate with legal on contract structure and terms for major capital acquisitions
  • Partner with engineering and facilities teams during equipment specification and selection to ensure sourcing strategy is aligned with technical requirements and program timelines
  • Manage long-lead equipment procurement planning, flagging risks to schedule early and developing mitigation plans when lead times threaten program milestones
  • Track capital equipment orders from PO issuance through delivery, installation, and acceptance - keeping stakeholders informed and issues resolved
  • Ensure capital equipment procurement activities comply with FAR, DFARS, and ITAR requirements where applicable

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-8 years of procurement or commodity management experience, with direct ownership of capital equipment or CapEx sourcing
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, high-value sourcing events and negotiate capital equipment contracts with favorable commercial outcomes
  • Experience managing long-lead procurement in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or industrial environment
  • Strong understanding of capital equipment categories - familiarity with precision manufacturing, test and measurement, or facilities infrastructure a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and equipment requirements in order to engage credibly with engineering stakeholders and suppliers
  • Skilled negotiator with experience structuring milestone-based payment terms, warranties, and acceptance criteria
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple high-value acquisitions simultaneously across different program timelines


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or space manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and ITAR compliance requirements as they apply to capital procurement
  • Background working in a startup or scaling manufacturing environment where capital equipment decisions have direct program impact


COMPENSATION
  • Base Salary: $105,000-$160,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work Location-Successful candidates will be located near Denver or Colorado Springs. While we observe a hybrid work environment, some work must be done on site.
