Cannabis Corporate AssociatePosition OverviewWe are and Am 200 firm, seeking an experienced Corporate Associate to join our team in one of our many NY office locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law as it pertains to the cannabis industry, or an interest in expanding into the the cannabis industry. You will be responsible for providing legal support on a variety of corporate transactions and compliance matters to our clients. Key Responsibilities- Provide legal advice on joint ventures and partnerships within the cannabis industry.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements.
- Assist in the formation of corporate entities and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Support merger and acquisition activities, including due diligence and structuring transactions.
- Advise clients on financing options and strategies specific to cannabis businesses.
- Conduct legal research on cannabis law and regulatory developments affecting corporate activities.
- Collaborate with clients to develop innovative solutions to complex legal issues in the cannabis sector.
Qualifications- Juris Doctor (JD)
- Licensed to practice in the state of NY
- 4+ years of experience in corporate law, preferably with a focus on the cannabis industry.
- Strong understanding of commercial transactions and contracts.
- Experience with joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and financing.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients and stakeholders.
