The Canada Operations & Business Controller is a key business partner to the Americas Finance Team. This position proactively oversees the tax and monthly closing, planning and managing of finance activities, initiatives and strategies for the Canada operations units, while interfacing with Manufacturing and Supply chain management, plant controller and Americas accounting team. Specific areas of responsibility include partnerships with the Americas Manufacturing. Supply chain, and business teams to develop and maintain planning / budgeting systems, analysis and interpretation of trends, preparation of financial / management/ analysis reports and the presentation of findings to the business the overall objective to drive cost reduction while supporting volume and margin growth.

Job Responsibilities
People Management
- Planned, organized, and staffed key field positions.
- Mentors, trains, and coaches supporting direct reports
- Initiate and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Strategic partner to plant manager and regional sales team
- Monthly Close, Financial Planning, Analysis, and both Tax and Operations Reporting
- Establish financial objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy.
- Lead both the legal and tax requirements reporting and filings for Canada
- Own and manage the Canada monthly close and budget cycle
- Back-up lead for Americas monthly close process and consolidation
- Create, update, and manage financial project schedules.
- Plan and coordinate financial resources for the department's services.
- Assessing and analyzing departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits.
- Recommend strategies based upon financial, accounting and industry trends.
- Long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company's overall goals
- Identifies potential problems and points for friction and working to find solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue.
Leadership and Communication
- Provide leadership team guidance on expense management, productivity, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and planning.
- Provides business inputs and insights for monthly financial reporting including budget/forecast and trend/variance analysis for Canadian operations. Includes Sales (AI, CF and PET), plant variances, PPV, PAP SG&A analysis
- Partner and interact with supply chain teams as it relates to supply chain finance.
- Leads Canada Plant Finance Team and partners effectively with Leadership & other Functional groups
- Works effectively across matrix organization, including commercial, plant and regional teams

Job Qualifications and Requirements
- CPA in Accounting is required, with master's degree in finance or related field preferred.
- 12-15 years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment with exposure to standard costing, SAP and HFM required.
- Experience in Canadian tax law and legal reporting requirements
- Strong experience in manufacturing finance preferred
- Ability to excel in a cross-cultural, global team environment.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience transforming processes and system automation to gain efficiencies
- Demonstrates initiative and creativity in achieving results.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and continuous improvement environment

The expected compensation range for this role is $160,000.00 -$180,000.00.
The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
