Full Job Description

The Night Shift Area Manager is a key member of a fast‑paced, high‑performance management team reporting to the Production Manager, Tube Lines North. This role provides leadership and direction to one night‑shift production team working Monday - Friday, 3rd shift.

The Area Manager is responsible for driving performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, production reporting, and customer satisfaction. This includes overseeing communication, managing production output, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

This leader supports and develops team members, fosters continuous improvement, and reinforces World Class Manufacturing principles throughout the operation.


The scheduled operating hours for this position are 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Responsibilities

  • Promote a zero incident safety culture and ensure safe work practices with all of the team. 

  • Tracking KPIs (schedule adherence, yield, production, etc.)

  • Apply World Class Armacell Mindset (WAM) tools and Lean Manufacturing principles to Value Stream and process improvement opportunities.

  • Understanding and using WAM tools as necessary to troubleshoot problems (SRCAs, HERCAs, Quick Kaizens, SOPs/OPLs, etc.)

  • Lead Enhanced Work Orders (EWO) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for Value Stream.

  • Ensure correct data entry for inventory control and production using AIMs for material produced during your shift.

  • Assist in managing on time performance by providing input to production planning activities.

  • Monitoring the housekeeping of machines and areas to achieve and sustain 5S standards and basic condition of equipment.

  • Work with Maintenance to determine and clarify priority of work orders.

  • Responsible for team development, training, and performance.

  • Approving PTO and timesheets.  Managing the employee attendance records and implementing discipline for attendance violations.

  • Performing annual feedback reviews with team members to document performance.

  • Conducting counseling and coaching sessions with employees to improve performance.  Issuing discipline to employees when required.

  • Keep Human Resources informed and involved in communications regarding the business as well as any employment related action. 

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of three to five years of related professional experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Operations, Business or comparable combination of education and experience.

  • Possess professional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge or related knowledge of LEAN continuous improvement manufacturing.

  • Knowledge or related knowledge of high intensity rubber compounding is a bonus.

  • Proven professional qualities including strong initiative, integrity, and the desire/ability to work in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Armacell in the US.

The expected compensation range for this role is $80,000.00 - $85,000.00.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
