Responsibilities

  • Perform CAM programming for various machining operations including both metallic and composite parts.
  • Conduct and oversee machining simulations, ensuring they meet project specifications.
  • Support and enhance composite manufacturing programming activities, specifically AFP and ATL processes.
  • Provide support for internal digital machining solutions both on the shop floor and remotely.
  • Assist end-users with adopting and effectively utilizing digital tools and solutions.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation and status reports to track progress and address risks.
  • Ensure clear communication about project milestones and outcomes.

Job Description

We are seeking a CAM Support Engineer to join our Aeroline digital services division. In this role, you will act as a key contributor to CAM activities, supporting programming, implementation, and digital machining solutions within aerospace environments.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure the successful delivery of projects-on time, within scope, and in compliance with the highest quality and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

NC Programming & Simulation
  • Perform CAM programming for machining operations (metallic and/or composite parts)
  • Conduct machining simulations and ensure alignment with project requirements, timelines, and quality standards

Composites Programming
  • Support programming activities for composite manufacturing processes, including:
    • Automated Fiber Placement (AFP)
    • Automated Tape Laying (ATL)

Digital Solution Support
  • Provide shop floor and remote support for Sopra Steria's in-house digital machining solutions
  • Assist users in the adoption and effective use of digital tools
  • Troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvement of digital solutions

Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare status reports and maintain project documentation
  • Ensure clear visibility on progress, milestones, risks, and outcomes


Qualifications

Experience
  • Experience in CAM programming and machining simulation in an industrial environment
  • Exposure to the aerospace industry or work with aerospace clients is an asset

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in CAM software and NC programming
  • Comfortable working with IT tools and supporting end users
  • Basic experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Ability to engage in technical discussions with users and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, particularly composites, is a strong advantage
  • Understanding of digital technologies and their application in aerospace
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards, regulations, and best practices is an asset
