Job Description

The Chassis Diagnostics Calibration team is seeking a Diagnostics Technical Specialist to support the development, integration, calibration, and validation of vehicle chassis control systems. This role will apply hands-on diagnostic expertise, vehicle testing experience, and data-driven problem solving to identify issues, improve system performance, and deliver robust customer-ready features.

The successful candidate will work closely with controls engineers, software developers, calibration engineers, test engineers, and vehicle integration teams. The role requires a strong combination of technical depth, practical vehicle knowledge, disciplined troubleshooting, and the ability to communicate findings clearly across engineering and program teams.

Key responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on diagnostics support for chassis control systems/
  • Plan and execute diagnostic troubleshooting on development vehicles, test benches, and other engineering environments.
  • Partner with controls and software engineers to reproduce issues, document findings, and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Create clear, repeatable test procedures and diagnostic methods for vehicle and system-level investigations.
  • Review test results and communicate technical summaries, presentations, and cross-functional reviews.
  • Own the diagnostic processes and validation with documentation as Standard Work
  • Teach and mentor new calibration engineers on diagnostics strategies.


Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, automotive engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, diagnostic trouble codes, fault isolation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience using CAN-based communication and diagnostic concepts, including signal interpretation and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on vehicle development and testing environment, including occasional travel and non-standard work hours during test events.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company requirements for operating development and test vehicles.


What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills)
  • Five or more years of experience in automotive diagnostics, chassis controls, vehicle integration, calibration, validation, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency with tools such as CANoe/CANalyzer, INCA, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, Vehicle Spy, ETAS, dSPACE, Vector, or comparable diagnostic and data-analysis platforms.
  • Experience analyzing time-series data, bus traces, test logs, calibration data, and vehicle performance measurements.
  • Experience with embedded software development, software release processes, requirements traceability, defect tracking, and configuration management.
  • Knowledge of functional safety, cybersecurity, AUTOSAR, vehicle networks, and applicable automotive development processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical investigations, mentor less-experienced team members.

Success will be demonstrated by the ability to quickly isolate difficult chassis controls issues, provide actionable technical evidence, improve diagnostic and test efficiency with standard work processes, and help the team deliver reliable vehicle behavior across development and validation programs.

Work environment

This is a hands-on role supporting chassis controls work across engineering, vehicle integration, laboratory, and proving-ground environments. The position may require work around test vehicles and equipment, occasional travel, and flexible hours during vehicle testing and program milestones.
