Other Forms of Compensation: Job SummaryAs a Cafe Manager, you will manage a team of food service professionals and be responsible for the overall service in the main dining room as well as special functions. Additionally, you will assist with maintaining interdepartmental relations and integrating the dining service department with the facility plan of operation.
This position supports a dynamic Monday-Friday workplace dining operation at Atlassian, an onsite technology client serving approximately 200 employees each day. The operation includes daily breakfast and lunch service, catering, four micro-kitchens, and monthly marketing and engagement initiatives. Hot food is prepared at a nearby commissary and delivered daily for onsite service. This is a collaborative, hospitality-focused environment that values creativity, organization, strong client relationships, and an exceptional guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Oversees dining services operations of a small to medium volume location.
- Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
- Assists with profit and loss and budgeting as it pertains to this account.
- Works with the Chef and management team in creating menus and providing top quality food.
- Assists in the responsibility for all food service-related activities and is primarily involved in meal services in a seated dining room setting, including quality improvement, sanitation, infection control, and all facility-related activities.
- Assists with the rollout of new culinary programs in conjunction with marketing and culinary teams.
- Assists with the preparation of quarterly reports for client presentations.
- Works with marketing and culinary departments to increase sales through innovation and food quality.
- Communicates with the culinary department to ensure food programs reflect the company's vision.
- Supports catering operations, micro-kitchen management, and employee engagement initiatives to enhance the workplace dining experience.
- Builds and maintains strong client and guest relationships while delivering a high level of hospitality and customer service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- 2 years of food service supervisory or lead experience.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, and/or related food service operations.
- Waitstaff and catering experience preferred.
- Possess general hospitality knowledge and an interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices.
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the internet.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
- Associate's degree preferred.
