SummaryThe CAD Project Manager is responsible for coordinating drawing development for documentation projects. Coordinate and track all drawing developments for multiple projects to ensure timely submittals and drawing accuracy. Review CAD drawings prior to field quality control and submission to the client that follow the CAD Department methodology, philosophy, and standards. Assign and monitor CAD Developers to ensure quality drawing development. Coordinate status updates and information exchange with customers. Serve as a technical advisor for drawing review and preparation as well as drawing software utilization.
Primary Duties- Assign CAD Developers as necessary to create drawings including but not limited to Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Ensure that each drawing the developer creates is accurate according to the sketch/redline and prior to turning over to the field team for Quality Control. This may call for review of pictures taken in the field when you deem something to be amiss with the sketch/redline.
- Develop drawing project trackers and schedules.
- Work alongside the Documentation Services Supervisor to provide status updates, information exchange, and drawing delivery with the client.
- Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
- Create and maintain Technical Library, including gathering and sorting source and background materials.
- Perform assessment of customer drawings for technical accuracy.
- Develop, as needed, and ensure adherence to consistent style and formatting guidelines as defined by the CAD Department or the client.
- Coordinate with Documentation Services Supervisor and field walkdown team to ensure accuracy of field sketches during drawing creation and review.
- When needed, take on the role of a CAD Developer and create drawings, including but not limited to P&IDs, through the use of field sketches and/or redlines.
- Adhere to and ensures compliance of all Company policies, rules, procedures, and standards.
Working RelationshipsThe position reports to the Documentation Manager and the CAD Designers report to the CAD Project Manager. The Documentation Manager assists the CAD Project Manager with developing Work Orders and Cost Models for customer estimates. The Documentation Manager assists the CAD Project Manager with project budget, schedule, and resource tracking.
Compensation The initial annual compensation will range from $98,300 to $113,050
Job Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.
- Years of Experience:
- Five years of experience in heavy industrial or power generation drawing development.
- Five years of experience using AutoCAD
- Two years of experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D (P&ID)
- Two years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Software/Equipment Knowledge:
- Strong working knowledge and ability to read blueprints, schematics, and interpret Engineering documents: Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), Process Flow Diagrams, General Arrangements, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD with a primary focus on AutoCAD P&ID.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft software programs and PDF editors.
- Proficient across various disciplines: mechanical, electrical, and controls (preferred)

- Able to successfully monitor multiple projects and CAD Developers.
- Able to independently research, develop, and review unfamiliar systems.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions- Able to work at desk for extended periods of time.
- Able to perform system walkdowns at client facility, including climbing stairs and wearing proper personal protective equipment.
