Full Job Description

C-12 King Air / UC-35 Cessna Citation - Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P). Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on Army C-12 King Air (200, 350, 1900) and/or UC-35 Cessna Citation aircraft.

(Level of Mechanic is based on years of specific C-12/UC-35 hands-on A&P mechanic experience).

  • A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.
  • AM-1- Two to five years of A&P and C-12/UC-35 experience is required.
  • AM-2 6 Five to Ten years of C-12/UC-35 experience required.
  • AM-3 6 Ten plus years of C-12/UC-35 experience is required.
  • US Citizenship is Required to obtain the US Govt Secret Clearance and for facility/base access at this site location.
  • Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.
  • Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
  • Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751.
  • Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
  • Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.
  • Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
  • Perform engine run or taxi operations. O ability to meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Reads and interprets manufacturers9 maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Perform other qualified duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.
  • Union CBA Site offers 3 levels of A&P mechanic employment, based on years of specific hands-on experience on the assigned aircraft MDS Mission Design Series aircraft being serviced (Army C-12/King Air and/or UC-35 Cessna Citation).
  • AM-1- Two (2) Years of A&P mechanic experience Required, with a minimum of two (2) years specific C-12/King Air Or UC-35 Citation hands-on experience preferred.
  • AM-2 - Five (5) years of C-12/King Air Or UC-35 Citation specific hands-on A&P aircraft mechanic experience is required.
  • AM-3- Ten (10) years of FAA A&P mechanic experience, and Thirteen (13) years of specific C-12/King Air Or UC-35 Citation aircraft experience is required.
  • Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
  • Sheet Metal/Structures hands-on experience is highly desired but not required.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned under the Union CBA. May be required to work and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation.
  • Second Shift is Required, Monday-Friday 40 hours a week. Second shift hours are 1400-10:30 (CDT).

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization. US Citizenship is Required to hold a US Govt Secret Clearance, and facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility.

(AR95-20) A&P Mechanic Pre-employment Medical/Physical Requirements:

  • All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within Ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed Five (5) years. (*BMI under 40 is required).

Additional and Physical Qualifications

  • Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelineswhile maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Pay ranges from 46.38 per hour up to 53.91 per depending on years of experience with the aircraft.

  • Bi-weekly accrual of 6.45 hours (60 months but less than 120 months)

Compensation Details:

Union CBA Range $46.28 - $53.91
