Full Job Description
As a Buyer, this role will support Purchasing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments in identification, development, and maintenance of prototype and pilot stage supply chain, inclusive of optimized costs, logistics, and delivery within our global supply base. Additionally, this role is responsible for Project management of supplier changes, outsourcing, and other projects to optimize product costs, while providing clear communication to key stakeholders on component status and timing of projects.
o Execution of new product- as well as cost savings-projects and realization of the project targets for external procurement (Q, C, D).
o Purchasing representative in Simultaneous Engineering teams and in saving-, outsourcing- and localization-projects, management of outsourcing subprojects.
o Application of project management methodology and interdisciplinary moderation.
o Inquiries for new parts/initiate pre-sourcing meeting for supplier pre-selection.
o Carry out preventive quality measures with suppliers.
o Procurement of prototypes (ABC samples), initial samples.
o Technical release of suppliers/parts in accordance with Supplier Quality Management processes and good practices.
o Ensure sustainable quality through preventive QA measures in projects involving new assignments, relocations.
o Control initial sample release (dimensions, function, material, process).
o Monitor start of serial production until project handover to Commodity Purchasing and Scheduling.
o Responsible for change management.
o Innovation management: connection between Rexroth and supplier market.
o Project-specific contracts (SE contract, confidentiality, concept competition).
o Ensure early involvement of purchasing.
o Technology observation (procurement market and competition) and if appropriate initiation of projects.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or Supply Chain related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Purchasing, Engineering or Manufacturing environment required.
• Must be able to read engineering drawings and understand technical specifications.
• Knowledge of PPAP process and preventive quality tools.
• Proactive, thorough, detail oriented, self-motivated, a strong team player, able to prioritize multiple tasks and someone who takes initiative.
• Excellent project management skills required.
• Effective and creative problem-solving skills and time management/prioritization skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interact well with other internal departments as well as suppliers.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Advanced Excel preferred.
• Experience with SAP is a plus.
Compensation range: USD $80,000 - USD $90,000 - yearly
