What you get to do:As a CapEx Buyer, you will:
- Develop a strategic supply base.
- Lead supplier commercial negotiations and manage supplier relationships.
- Manage RFQs, commercial agreements, and sourcing processes to meet program cost targets and Job 1 timing.
- Quote and negotiate pricing with suppliers for CapEx, MRO, and Returnables -related purchases.
- Purchase custom integrated solutions and off-the-shelf components for Body Shop, Coating Shop, Manufacturing Software, General Assembly Equipment, and more.
- Resolve cost, quality, and delivery issues impacting the factory.
- Collaborate with systems development and quality teams to drive supplier strategies and improvements.
- Identify and implement cost reductions and value improvements.
- Independently negotiate and ensure suppliers adhere to Re:Car dba SLATE's Global Terms and Conditions.
- Analyze internal and external data to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Proactively communicate risks and priorities to ensure timely resolution.
What you bring to the team:- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience
- 4-5+ years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain Management or Engineering
- Experience purchasing CapEx commodities is preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to identify process issues and drive improvements to improve operational efficiency
- Knowledge and experience with ERP systems and implementation - i.e. SAP, Plex, NetSuite
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- High level of integrity
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment

At Slate, we are committed to providing our employees and candidates with access to information about our compensation practices. The expected base salary range offered for this role is $96,000-$120,000. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location.
